News Title: Auberon Woods, D. R. Horton’s largest new home community in Conway, is seeing impressive sales success, with Phase 3 development progressing rapidly.
The new home community of Auberon Woods has a very convenient location within Horry County. Highways 90, 22, 17, 501 and 31 are all just a few minutes away. Much of Horry County and the Grand Strand area are quite accessible from Auberon Woods. Auberon Woods will have a Conway mailing address, yet the location of this new home community has a slightly different feel at it is actually closer to North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest than it is to downtown Conway.

The upcoming Horry County Ride 4 project, SC Hwy 90 widening from East Cox Ferry Road to Little River, will only add to the appeal of Auberon Woods. Horry County has already issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking a design bid for the widening of Highway 90 from East Cox Ferry Road to Little River which will entail widening Highway 90 to 4 lanes with turn lanes at intersection (East Cox Ferry to US Highway 90). This Highway 90 widening project seems likely to be among the initial Ride 4 projects to be implemented.

Another attractive feature for residents in Auberon Woods is the fact that the community is being developed adjacent to the Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve. The Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve is a state-protected natural preserve covering over 10,000 acres known not only for being a unique outdoor destination for hikers, birders, naturalists, and photographers who appreciate wild, minimally managed nature – but also known to protects rare plant species like the Venus flytrap and pitcher plants and supports endangered birds and black bears.

The location of Auberon Woods adjacent to a preserve provides long-term value through preserved views, reduced density, and a quieter setting.

With over 1,000 single family homes approved for development, the new home community of Auberon Woods is the largest new home community currently under development in all of Conway.

The new home community of Auberon Woods in Conway began development in late 2023.

As of December 2025, D. R. Horton has progressed to Phase 3 of 17 total Phases of development in Auberon Woods. Single-family home sales in Auberon Woods have been strong. D. R. Horton has now sold over 215 single-family homes in Auberon Woods. The single family homes in Auberon Woods have sold from the middle $200’s to the upper $400’s with an average selling price around $352,000.

D. R. Horton is offering their Tradition Series in Auberon Woods from $269,990 and is offering a huge number of floorplan options for homebuyers – there are 17 different floorplans available in Auberon Woods!

D. R. Horton’s newest phases have 2 car garages, 4-5 bedrooms, upgraded kitchens with walk-in pantries, tiled kitchen backsplash, granite or quarts countertops and large kitchen islands.
