News Title:Townes of Prince Creek West – a first for Toll Brothers in the Grand Strand
Prince Creek is the largest and one of the most established master-planned communities in Murrells Inlet, encompassing nearly 3,000 acres and more than 15 neighborhoods. At the heart of Prince Creek is TPC Myrtle Beach, a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course that was originally part of the PGA Tour’s TPC network and remains one of the community’s defining features.
Prince Creek West is a distinct section within the larger Prince Creek master-planned community, located west of TPC Boulevard and farther from Highway 707. With its more secluded setting and established neighborhoods, Prince Creek West is generally considered the quieter, more residential side of Prince Creek.
Toll Brothers purchased 7.46 acres within Prince Creek West and is developing 42 townhomes in a new townhome community called Townes of Prince Creek West.
A First for Toll Brothers in the Grand Strand
Townes of Prince Creek West represents a notable milestone for Toll Brothers in the Grand Strand. Toll Brothers has been building in the Myrtle Beach area for several years, having entered the South Carolina market through its 2019 acquisition of Sabal Homes, a South Carolina homebuilder with a presence in the Myrtle Beach market.
Since establishing its local presence, Toll Brothers' Grand Strand portfolio has been overwhelmingly focused on single-family homes. Townes of Prince Creek West is the company's first townhome community in the Grand Strand.
While townhomes are new to the Toll Brothers portfolio locally in the Myrtle Beach area, they are certainly not new to the company. Toll Brothers has extensive experience building attached homes throughout the country. At the end of fiscal year 2025, Toll Brothers was selling homes in 446 communities nationwide, including 86 attached-home communities — this represents nearly one out of every five communities in its portfolio – roughly 20%.
That makes the arrival of Townes of Prince Creek West particularly interesting. Toll Brothers is not experimenting with townhome construction for the first time; it is bringing an established and successful product type to the Grand Strand for the first time.
The new community of the Townes of Prince Creek West also gives Toll Brothers an opportunity to offer a lower-maintenance housing option than the larger single-family homes that have traditionally dominated its local portfolio.
A Location Surrounded by Amenities
Townes of Prince Creek West is conveniently located very close to The Park at Prince Creek West, essentially the central amenity hub for several neighborhoods within the Prince Creek West section.
The Park is not a large public destination park like a county park. Instead, it is a private, resort-style recreation area primarily serving residents of the surrounding communities.
Amenities include two swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball court, bocce ball and horseshoe areas, a playground, open green space, walking and nature trails, and a large pavilion and gathering space for community events and social activities.
The combination of an established master-planned community, extensive amenities and a nationally recognized builder make Townes of Prince Creek West an interesting addition to Prince Creek.
For Toll Brothers, however, the significance goes beyond the 42 homes being built here. Townes of Prince Creek West marks the company's first townhome venture in the Grand Strand — bringing a product it has been successfully building across the country to a market where its local presence has historically been centered on single-family homes.
Toll Brothers is expected to announce presales in the Townes of Prince Creek West in the next couple of weeks.
