News Title: Mungo Homes has sold out all of the 53 single family homes in Lyden Village
Corporal Dennis James Lyden was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served with the Horry County Police Department. His badge number was 353. In 2000, Corporal Dennis Lyden was shot and killed in the line of duty near the location of where the new home community of Lyden Village is being developed. Lyden Village is named after Corporal Dennis James Lyden.

Lyden Village is conveniently located right off of Highway 544. Travel from Lyden Village to many other areas is simplified, with quick access to Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest and Conway via Highway 544 and Highway 501. The Highway 544 and Highway 31 interchange is within a couple of minutes of Lyden Village, making travel both north and south of the Grand Strand easy!
Mungo Homes was the builder within the Lyden Village new home community.
Michael J. Mungo started building homes in the Columbia, South Carolina area in 1954, and still today, the Mungo family is involved in the day-to-day operations of the new home building business. Many of their team members live and play in the communities where they build so you’re likely to bump into them at the grocery store, a football game, or the gym, and they take care of you just as well after the close as during the buying process. Mungo Homes is now a division of the Clayton Home Building Group and a Berkshire Hathaway company. Mungo Homes is well committed to building in the Myrtle Beach area.

Homes first began to sell in Lyden Village back in September of 2023. Mungo Homes sold out Lyden Village in April of 2025.
